What's New

Strongchoice arrived on the scene at Macy's East in Herald Square to relieve a backlog of Web projects and for the next three months worked with development teams and customers, including executive vice-presidents, managers, and directors, to create data-intensive Intranet Websites using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005.

At both Cline, Davis, and Mann Interactive and Greater Than One, two digital marketing and advertising agencies in New York City, Strongchoice worked as front-end developer on pharmaceutical sites for Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Meda AB, and Daiichi Sankyo, using Dreamweaver, Photoshop, javascript libraries, and CSS.

Strongchoice created database reporting applications for Reader's Digest Sales Division with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.

What's Up Lately

Having made an earlier Web video about construction at Hackley School in Tarrytown, NY, Strongchoice was the obvious "choice" for a follow-up movie, this time about the demolition of a classroom building. The school provided ninety minutes of raw digital video footage, and Strongchoice did the rest: editing, stills, titles, soundtrack, and Quicktime Pro encoding. The result was a Web video less than three minutes long. Click on the Cool Link above, let the movie load, and see the finished result.

A current Strongchoice project, using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, is developing a golf blog, with Discussion, Research, Reviews, and AdSense advertising from Google. The programming is VB.NET with data stored in either XML files or a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database.

For the marketing department of a publicly-traded startup wi-fi client, Strongchoice developed a Web application that stores images in a database "library" for easy searching and retrieval of both images and metadata, including rights-managed licensing terms. The software tools were Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Try it out!

Managing Web traffic analyzers for clients is a specialty at Strongchoice. Recently, we set up, configured, and ran reports using WebTrends and Smarterstats for a start-up interested in maximizing its Web presence. Both very powerful, Smarterstats, with its data-mining capabilities, helps drive traffic with an in-depth analysis of keywords, visitor navigation trends, and more, while WebTrends, an enterprise-level program, provides the market with Web analytics solutions that help marketers measure and improve Web sites and online marketing.

When Record and Return Title Agency, Inc. decided it was time for a complete Website redesign, the Eastchester company called on Strongchoice. After helping the client define the site specifications, Strongchoice created a new logo using Adobe Illustrator, a new look, new features, and new navigation. The redesign included the additions of a logon area, where clients can track, in real-time, the progress of their title applications; a rate calculator; and live chat. Work is proceeding on branding some seventy-five forms that will be available for download.
